Fresh new ?golden? look of FUJI SST 1.0
The nine riders of the FOOTON-SERVETTO-FUJI team will enjoy a fresh new “golden” look of their FUJI SST 1.0 bike during the Tour de France.

The gold bike, which was introduced initially for a dramatic movie short that was shown at the team's presentation, was ridden by Manuel Cardoso at the Tour Down Under to the victory in stage 3, and now their companions will be riding on a model that keeps Gold everywhere in the frame, chain and handlebars.

"We’re proud to be represented in the sport’s biggest stage and want to mark the occasion with something special,” suggests Karen Bliss, vice president of marketing for FUJI. “The application of this metallic finish on carbon is very unique. Our engineers worked diligently to develop a process to create this one-of-a-kind look.” Referred to by Fuji as Fu-sion X, the proprietary fusing process utilizes a blend of paint and metal without 'flecking' as a normal metallic paint would. Instead, aluminum is ground down super fine to produce the gleaming finish and once combined with the paint, only takes to frames produced of the highest quality. “Fu-sion X is a process we introduced on some of our commemorative models coming out next year and look to use in the future,” continued Bliss. “We’re excited to see these bikes gracing the roads of France in July.”

The frameset, Fuji’s SST platform, is the same bike the team is currently riding. It is made with Fuji’s proprietary C-7 carbon and utilizes aero-shaped, RIB (Reinforced I-Beam) tubing with a tapered head tube, Energy Transfer Chainstay and BB-86 Press-fit bottom bracket. Limited quantities of these special gold bikes built with more modest spec will be available for sale in Europe and the U.S. later this summer.
